Bangladesh is taking another step toward building a globally connected semiconductor industry as the Bangladesh Semiconductor Industry Association (BSIA) launches its USA Roadshow 2026 under the Silicon River and BRAINGAIN initiatives. The multi-city engagement aims to strengthen partnerships with global technology leaders, universities, investors, researchers, and Bangladeshi-origin semiconductor professionals across the United States to boost Bangladesh’s Semiconductor Ecosystem.
Scheduled from 5–13 June, the roadshow includes visits to major semiconductor and innovation hubs such as Austin, Phoenix, Silicon Valley, Folsom, and Portland. The initiative is led by BSIA President M A Jabbar and Professor Muhammad Mustafa Hussain of Purdue University, Chief Architect of the Silicon River Bangladesh Initiative.
The delegation is engaging with leading global companies including AMD, NXP Semiconductors, Tokyo Electron, Intel, Arm, Synopsys, GlobalFoundries, and SanDisk to explore opportunities in workforce development, research collaboration, chip design, advanced packaging, artificial intelligence, and technology transfer. Meetings with universities and innovation platforms are also expected to support knowledge exchange and entrepreneurship development.
A key component of the roadshow is the BRAINGAIN programme, which seeks to connect Bangladesh with highly skilled Bangladeshi-origin professionals working in the global semiconductor industry. Networking events and industry receptions are bringing together executives, academics, entrepreneurs, investors, and researchers to explore pathways for collaboration and ecosystem development.
The initiative builds on Bangladesh’s broader Silicon River vision, which aims to position the country as an emerging destination for semiconductor design, innovation, research, and advanced technology development. Through strategic international partnerships and talent-driven growth, Bangladesh is seeking to strengthen its presence within the global semiconductor value chain.
Industry stakeholders expect the roadshow to generate new opportunities for investment, technology partnerships, workforce development, and research collaboration, supporting Bangladesh’s long-term ambition to develop a competitive semiconductor ecosystem and attract high-value technology investments.
