Chinese apparel manufacturer Wing Tai Garments (Bangladesh) Co Ltd has committed USD 10.32 million to establish a new readymade garment manufacturing facility in the BEPZA Economic Zone (EZ) at Mirsharai, Chattogram, reinforcing Bangladesh’s continued attractiveness as a global apparel sourcing hub.

The factory will produce both knit and woven garments, targeting an annual output of over 5.5 million pieces across categories including T-shirts, tops, trousers, jackets, and shorts for men, women, and children. The investment is expected to generate 3,158 direct jobs, contributing to industrial employment and export capacity expansion.

The agreement was signed between Wing Tai Garments (Bangladesh) Co Ltd and the Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA), underscoring BEPZA’s role in facilitating foreign direct investment through infrastructure-ready economic zones and investor support services. The project adds momentum to Mirsharai’s emergence as a strategic manufacturing and export corridor.
