Handa Industries to Invest USD 220 Million in Bangladesh’s Keraniganj Economic Zone

Chinese manufacturer Handa Industries has announced plans to invest USD 220 million in a new manufacturing facility at the Keraniganj Economic Zone, reinforcing growing investor confidence in Bangladesh’s expanding industrial ecosystem.

The investment announcement was made during the “Invest Bangladesh” Seminar in Beijing, organized by the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) in collaboration with the Embassy of Bangladesh in China and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT).

Handa Industries has received provisional land allotment for the project and plans to establish a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility that is expected to generate approximately 13,000 direct jobs, contributing to employment generation and industrial development in Bangladesh.

The investment marks Handa Industries’ second manufacturing facility in Bangladesh. In 2025, the company established its first factory at the Mirsharai Economic Zone in Chattogram with an investment of USD 100 million, creating around 12,000 employment opportunities.
