Bangladesh received investment proposals worth Tk33,806.29 crore from 302 industrial units during the first quarter of 2024. This surge in investment interest was revealed in a press release by the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority.
The investment proposals included Tk17,636.9 crore from local investors and Tk16,169.37 crore from foreign investors, indicating robust confidence in Bangladesh’s business landscape from both domestic and international fronts.
Among the 302 industrial units, a majority of 270 were initiated by local entrepreneurs, with 18 originating from foreign entities and 14 representing joint ventures. This diverse participation underscores a collaborative effort towards enhancing Bangladesh’s industrial sector.
Beyond the monetary aspect, these proposals are expected to create 4,735 employment opportunities across the nation. This indicates not only economic growth but also employment prospects for many Bangladeshis.
