Swiss construction chemical giant Sika has officially begun production in Bangladesh, marking a significant expansion of its global manufacturing network. The company inaugurated its new facility on 3 November at the Meghna Industrial Economic Zone (MIEZ) in Narayanganj.
The factory will manufacture a range of products used across construction, automotive bonding, sealing, and protection applications, strengthening supply to Bangladesh’s fast-growing construction sector.
The inauguration event was attended by Reto Rengg, Swiss Ambassador to Bangladesh, as the chief guest. Mostafa Kamal, Chairman and Managing Director of Meghna Group of Industries (MGI), joined as special guest.
Sika has invested 5.19 million Swiss francs (CHF) to establish the new facility, which spans 80,945 square metres. The plant features:
