Express Leather Products Limited, the local licensee of Lotto has inaugurated a modern factory in Kapasia, Gazipur. Lotto Bangladesh, backed by a BDT 100Bn investment, is set to nearly triple the company’s production capacity over the next two years with the new facility. Reinforcing domestic value addition and competitiveness.
The expansion will enhance local footwear production, enabling Lotto Bangladesh to offset high import costs and strengthen its foothold in the rapidly growing branded footwear market. The new setup consists of advanced technology, sustainable infrastructure and a worker-centric environment.
The new unit is expected to generate over 1000 new jobs, offering employment opportunities especially for women and contributing to regional socio‑economic development. The plant also includes a dedicated training centre aimed at developing skilled manpower, further supporting workforce readiness and industrial growth.
Lotto Bangladesh commenced its journey back in 2007, when it operated with a small team and limited resources. Today’s expansion reflects the broader promise of ‘Made in Bangladesh’ manufacturing. With a retail network spanning more than 220 outlets and plans to scale both production and market reach, the company is poised to contribute more significantly to local value creation and export potential.
This development underscores the attractiveness of Bangladesh’s investment climate for value‑added manufacturing, even as global brands and local partners collaborate to build competitive capacity and drive sustainable economic growth.
