Chevron Bangladesh, aiming for expansion, plans to venture into offshore exploration alongside onshore activities, according to State Minister for Power, Energy, and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid. After 28 years of onshore operations, Chevron eyes offshore fossil fuel exploration, seeking participation in tenders. Chevron Bangladesh President, Eric M. Walker, confirmed interest in offshore ventures, assessing data from oceanic seismic surveys. During a visit to the Bibiana gas field in Habiganj, Hamid inaugurated gas supply from wells and discussed plans with Chevron officials. Petrobangla Chairman Janendra Nath Sarkar and other officials attended the discussions. The move signals Chevron’s commitment to Bangladesh’s development, intending to bolster its role in the country’s energy sector.
