MEP Group plans to invest Tk200 crore to expand its market. The investment will increase production capacity and improve product quality. It will also help the company diversify its range of electrical products, the company said today (20 September).
The company made the announcement at the “MEP Accessories Super Offer 2026 Grand Achiever Celebration”. The event was held at Radisson Blu Dhaka Water Garden in the capital.
According to the company, the investment will fund a modern manufacturing plant. The facility will be built on 10 acres of land in the National Special Economic Zone in Mirsarai, Chattogram.
The proposed plant will support the development of new products. MEP plans to expand its portfolio to include lighting products, switch-sockets, circuit breakers, fans and cables.
In addition, the technology-based facility is expected to create employment. It will also contribute to strengthening Bangladesh’s domestic electrical products industry.
Dr Jahangir Alam Chaklader, managing director of MEP Group, said the factory is part of the company’s long-term expansion plans.
The plans include increasing production capacity and improving product quality. They also include adopting modern technology and developing new products.
“We want to work closely with retailers, distributors and customers to strengthen MEP’s contribution to Bangladesh’s electrical products market,” he said.
Meanwhile, Md Fazlul Hoque, administrator of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI), attended the event as the chief guest.
He said MEP is one of Bangladesh’s longstanding electrical products manufacturers. He added that the initiative would support industrialisation, employment generation and domestic manufacturing.
At the event, MEP Group also handed over prizes to 80 winners of its “MEP Accessories Super Offer 2026”. The prizes included 78 motorcycles and two refrigerators.
Shokil Chaklader, director of MEP Group, said the programme recognised the contributions of the company’s retailers, distributors and business partners.
According to the group, the event was part of a broader effort to strengthen engagement with its partners and customers. The company is preparing for further expansion.
