OptimaPlast to Invest USD 3.96m in AI-Powered Plastic Manufacturing Facility at NSEZ

OptimaPlast to Invest USD 3.96m in AI-Powered Plastic Manufacturing Facility at NSEZ

OptimaPlast Industries (Private) Limited is set to establish a state-of-the-art, AI-powered plastic manufacturing facility at the National Special Economic Zone (NSEZ), marking a strategic investment in advanced manufacturing and industrial automation in Bangladesh.

The new facility will feature fully robotic, AI-integrated production lines and dust-free European technology flooring. With an initial investment of nearly USD 3.96 million, the project is expected to create employment for around 220 people and commence production within eight months of land possession.

The factory will produce a diversified range of plastic products, including pails, pharmaceutical containers, canisters, food packaging, medical-grade plastics such as blood bags, and industrial drums. Additional output will include plastic bottles, lubricant and paint containers, PET preforms and jars, as well as garment accessories—supporting multiple downstream industries operating within the economic zone.

The land lease agreement for three acres at NSEZ was signed between the Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (BEZA) and OptimaPlast Industries at BEZA’s headquarters in Dhaka on 23 September. BEZA officials highlighted the investment as a key backward linkage project that will enhance industrial integration and supply-chain efficiency within the zone.

Founded in 1994 in Chattogram as Reliance Can Industry (Pvt) Ltd, OptimaPlast is a leading manufacturer of rigid plastic products and packaging solutions, with an annual turnover of approximately Tk96 crore. The company aims to position the NSEZ facility as a self-sufficient industrial unit serving both domestic and zone-based enterprises.
