Confidence Cement Dhaka Limited has inaugurated operations at its state‑of‑the‑art cement manufacturing plant in Palash, Narsingdi. Marking a key milestone in the company’s expansion strategy and reinforcing Bangladesh’s industrial capacity in the building materials sector.
The new facility, officially launched on 23 January 2026. incorporates advanced German vertical roller mill (VRM) technology and uses high‑grade clinker to produce quality cement. With an annual production capacity of 1.8 million tonnes, the plant is positioned to support a more consistent and reliable supply of cement across Bangladesh’s growing construction and infrastructure markets.
Confidence Cement’s new plant in Narsingdi aligns with Bangladesh’s broader industrial development goals, where increasing urbanisation and infrastructure investment have driven robust demand for cement. The facility is expected to enhance Confidence Cement’s distribution network nationwide, contributing not only to increased production volumes but also to price stability and supply reliability for key end‑users.
Leadership at Confidence Group emphasised that this expansion reflects the company’s long‑term commitment to sustainable growth, technological adoption, and building stronger value chains in the domestic cement industry. The investment also underscores confidence in Bangladesh’s favourable investment climate, competitive labor force, and ongoing infrastructure priorities.
As Bangladesh continues to pursue ambitious goals in housing, transport, and public utilities, domestic manufacturing of construction materials like cement plays a critical role in reducing import dependence, supporting local employment, and fostering inclusive industrialisation. Confidence Cement’s new plant is expected to contribute to these objectives while reinforcing the country’s position as an attractive destination for capital investment in heavy industry.
