BIDA Launches First Investment Matchmaking Portal to Connect Entrepreneurs and Global Investors

Bangladesh has officially launched its first Investment Matchmaking Portal, a digital platform designed to connect local entrepreneurs with foreign investors and support the formation of joint ventures. The initiative was announced at the BIDA headquarters, where Chowdhury Ashik Mahmud Bin Harun, Executive Chairman of both BEZA and BIDA, introduced the service, now accessible through the BIDA website.

The portal was developed in response to rising demand from both sides of the investment ecosystem. Over the past year, local entrepreneurs frequently approached BIDA seeking foreign investment partners, while many foreign investors requested introductions to credible Bangladeshi firms. The lack of a central system made these connections difficult, a gap the new platform aims to bridge.

Entrepreneurs can join the platform through a simple three-step registration process:

  1. Create an account
  2. Build an entrepreneur profile
  3. Upload a project profile with key business details

The portal includes several tools intended to streamline investor–entrepreneur engagement:

  • All Projects Directory: A consolidated listing of investment-ready projects from across Bangladesh.
  • Follow-Up Section: A built-in tracker for communication and engagement between both parties.

These features offer a more organized and transparent mechanism for project visibility, investor outreach, and collaboration.

The launch represents a significant step toward strengthening Bangladesh’s investment climate, enhancing access for local enterprises, and improving the country’s ability to attract foreign direct investment. If widely adopted, the portal could help accelerate joint ventures, expand private sector participation, and support Bangladesh’s broader economic integration goals.
