12th Asian Tourism Fair begins in Dhaka

The 12th Asian Tourism Fair 2025 began in Dhaka yesterday (18 September) at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB).

Organised by Parjatan Bichitra with the endorsement and support of the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism, the fair was opened to visitors last afternoon as part of World Tourism Day celebrations. The three-day fair will continue till 20 September.

Asian Tourism Fair Chairman and Parjatan Bichitra editor Mohiuddin Helal said the fair provides all tourism information under one roof.

“ATF is not only a fair, it is a tourism development initiative under public-private partnership mode. This fair is an excellent platform for collaboration between the private and public sectors. Both tourism service providers as sellers and consumers as buyers will have a great opportunity to enhance their business. The ATF also offers opportunities to launch new tourism products,” he added.

He further added that side events include a children’s art competition, B2B sessions, panel discussions and cultural programmes by partner countries.

Airlines, hotels, resorts, tour operators and travel agents are offering special discounts and packages at 180 booths across three halls.

Tourism organisations and businesses from Bangladesh, as well as partner countries the Philippines, Maldives and Nepal, are taking part.

Bangladesh Tourism Corporation Chairman Saima Shaheen Sultana said, “Public-private cooperation is vital for tourism development and the fair is a good example of such partnership.”
