After a two-year break due to the pandemic, Bangladesh Denim Expo 2022 commenced on the 10 May 2022 for a two-day expo, opening with 79 exhibitors across 12 countries. The platform functions as a one-stop sourcing platform for all aspects of jeanswear and creates an opportunity for global players in the business to explore new options in unison.
This year the expo featured the theme, ‘Beyond Business,’ which, according to the CEO of the expo, Mostafiz Uddin, highlights the advances and innovation created by the pandemic, which demands sustenance and direction beyond the usual means of business. The expo received many visitors despite the day being clouded with heavy downpour, so much so that the designated space fell short compared to the influx. The success of the expo was also voiced by key players, such as Ziaur Rahman, Head of Bangladesh, Pakistan & Ethiopian Region for the Swedish retail giant H&M, Md Sohel Rana, Deputy Manager of Envoy Textile, Al Shariar Ahmed, Managing Director of Indet Group and others. Irrespective of the size of the exhibitor’s organization, the expo played a crucial role in connecting buyers and suppliers of all spectrums by creating a single platform of interaction, which not only displayed the strength of Bangladesh in the field but also reflected the demand and interest of foreign clients through participation.
Exhibitor countries can be summed up as follows:
